AWS Kiro: Arbitrary Code Execution via Indirect Prompt Injection
Researchers found a vulnerability (CVE-2026-10591) in AWS Kiro, an agentic IDE, where hidden instructions planted in a web page or source file that Kiro processes can trigger indirect prompt injection to rewrite Kiro's own MCP server configuration (~/.kiro/settings/mcp.json) or allowlist arbitrary Bash commands in .vscode/settings.json, achieving arbitrary code execution on the developer's machine with no approval prompt. The human-in-the-loop approval boundary is bypassed because Kiro can write to these config files without user consent, and AWS has issued a fix and CVE.indirect-prompt-injection · prompt-injection · remote-code-execution · tool-abuse · config-poisoning

Lone Attacker Uses AI to Breach AWS Cloud Environment in 72 Hours
Incident response firm Sygnia published research describing how a lone, financially motivated attacker used agentic AI workflows to accelerate reconnaissance, attack-tool development, command structuring, and environment-specific adaptation, compromising a large AWS environment in roughly 72 hours and extorting a global enterprise. The attacker chained cloud misconfigurations and stolen credentials, executing cloud attack techniques far faster and wider than typical for a small-scale operation. Details →First reported aws.com
Memory Poisoning Attack in AI Agents - Attack vectors and defenses on AWS | AWS Builder Center
An AWS Builder Center article titled "Memory Poisoning Attack in AI Agents" discusses attack vectors and defenses for memory poisoning against AI agents on AWS. The retrievable page body contains only cookie-consent boilerplate, so the substantive technical content could not be analyzed. Details →First reported · updated · 3 reports darktrace.com
Hackers Compromise AWS AI Gateway Connected to Amazon Bedrock to Deploy XMRig Cryptominer
Darktrace disclosed an incident in which attackers compromised an AWS EC2 instance running LiteLLM-Proxy — an AI gateway centralizing access to Amazon Bedrock foundation models through a privileged IAM role — and deployed XMRig cryptomining malware. The instance had SSH port 22 exposed to all inbound traffic (0.0.0.0/0) and was hit by brute-force attempts, primarily from IP 145.241.123[.]102. Details →First reported paloaltonetworks.com
Potential denial of wallet abusing AI services • Cortex XSIAM Analytics Alert Reference by data source • Palo Alto Networks documentation portal
A Palo Alto Networks Cortex XSIAM analytics alert reference page documents a detection named 'Potential denial of wallet abusing AI services,' which flags abuse of cloud AI services (via AWS Audit Log data) to drive up costs in a denial-of-wallet style attack. The page is a product documentation entry describing the built-in detection rather than a technical write-up of the attack mechanism. Details →How the wire is made
