An AAAI 2026 paper, "Efficient LLM-Jailbreaking via Multimodal-LLM Jailbreak" by Haoxuan Ji et al., presents a jailbreak method that builds a multimodal LLM on top of a target LLM, performs an efficient MLLM jailbreak to obtain a jailbreaking embedding, then converts it into a textual suffix to jailbreak the target LLM. The authors claim this indirect approach outperforms state-of-the-art jailbreak methods in efficiency and effectiveness, aided by an image-text semantic matching scheme.
