OpenAI documented "Lockdown Mode," an optional advanced security setting for ChatGPT that limits outbound network requests to reduce the risk of data exfiltration from prompt injection attacks. The mode disables or limits live web browsing, image retrieval, deep research, agent mode, Canvas networking, file downloads, and live connector access, while noting it does not prevent prompt injections from appearing in processed content.
